Bummer about Sip & Krantz! I heard that Hopworks on Powell has a great kids area. Haven't been there yet, but it sounds fun. If the weather is nice, Hoyt Arboretum has lots of beautiful places. If it is raining, maybe under the picnic shelter at the Arboretum? Milagro has a room that adjoins their store that is nice. There's always Old Wives Tale and Laurelwood..

My all time favorite place for you to take pictures would be at the beach! You could get some beautiful photos at Cannon Beach or maybe Neskowin. Any place on the Oregon coast would be great in the spring or summer!
Other fun places might be the Salmon Street fountain on the Waterfront in Portland. Or closer to my home, Cook Park in Tigard has play areas for the kids, a bridge across the Tualatin River, and some covered areas in case of rain!
